Durkin and Sons recognise that, whilst the electrical and civil engineering works produced by its activities will, it believes, enhance the quality of the Built Environment, the construction processes used have the potential to impact the existing environment. The company will, therefore:
- Keep up to date and comply with all environmental legislation and client requirements, codes of practice and all relevant technical advances
- Influence clients and designers to improve the whole-life cycle environmental performance of the construction projects in which the Company is involved
- Set objectives and targets (including, where practicable, quantitative targets) to demonstrate continual improvement in environmental performance
- Achieve and continually improve set objectives and targets on an annual basis
- Ensure that the Company's commitment to the protection of the environment is communicated to all suppliers and subcontractors
- Encourage all suppliers and subcontractors to develop their products and services, with the aim to enhance their own and our Company’s environmental performance
- Provide training for employees and information to sub-contractors and suppliers in order that they can contribute to the delivery of the Company’s environmental objectives
- Communicate this Policy to all members and staff of the Company, and make it available to the public and other interested parties
